DIY: Gold Glitter Festival Makeup

Attention all festival addicts! Stumped on the perfect makeup look for your next festival? Look no further than our collab with Sam Todd for the ultimate DIY gold glitter festival makeup tutorial! This bold, smokey look is perfect for those groovers’ heading to Coachella, Splendour in the Grass, Groovin the Moo, Falls and more!

Festivals are the perfect place to experiment with different eye looks without any judgment, so Sam has gone for a brown and gold halo eye. To achieve this eye look, Sam blends brown and black shades from the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eye-Shadow Palette into her crease to create depth and define her eye. Sam uses a Mac paint pot and Too Faced gold shadow to create a base for the halo eye, then applies a gold glitter eye shadow to complete the look.

Hot tip: use your fingers to apply glittery eyeshadows for a bold, opaque look!

If you’re an avid festival go-er you know that no matter the season, you’re going to get hot and sweaty. It’s so important to protect your skin from the dirt and dust that will be flying around the air. A hydrating primer with SPF is the perfect option for festivals so Sam has gone for the Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer. This creates the perfect base for the heavy duty makeup you’re about to pile on! Sam creates a classic bronzed look with major emphasis on highlighter, highlighter, HIGHLIGHTER! You want to be glowing at your next festival so embrace your inner glow and go crazy!

Now for the fun part! You don’t get to wear glitter everyday, so why not go all out for a festival. Gold glitter is a safe pick and will go with all the gold jewellery you already own! Sam uses Living the Gleam gold glitters that already have gel in them but to apply loose glitters to your face, eyelash glue or paw paw ointment is your best bet! Layering glitter under your eye is such a cute look and draws attention to your eyes, contour and highlight. To balance it out, Sam applies four gold starts above her eyebrows, make sure to keep the packet so you can re-apply if they fall off throughout the day!
