Guess what ladies? It’s festival season! This means that the countdown for the ultimate festival COACHELLA is well and truly on. But more importantly than who is in the line-up, what on God’s green earth do I wear? Going to these festivals seems good in theory but when push comes to shove and we actually have to sort our outfits out, panic mode sets in (at least for me it does). It’s time to go through our saved pics on the gram, sort through our pins and essentially scram to the finish line in hopes to absolutely SLAY. Here is our ultimate guide to your festival essentials and what will make a totally BABIN’ festival look.
Need I say more? No festival look is actually complete until you are a damn disco ball. I’m talking collarbones, hair, cheekbones, arms, eyes, toes, THE WORKS. Glitter is the ultimate essential when it comes to festivals and let’s face it, who doesn’t want to look like a glowing goddess? We suggest adding a bit of Fairy Dust Berry Purple Glitter Pot to your look!
Ladies, did you really go to a festival if you weren’t wearing chunky boots and a buckle belt. The answer is HELL NO! These key leather accessories are a staple when it comes to putting together your ultimate festival look. Whether you wear these pieces together or mix and match, they are bound to take your festival fit to the next level. Accessorising is key when it comes to Festivals, and not only are they practical, they are HELLA cute and totally re-wearable. We suggest the Current Mood Raven Boots Black and the Rockstar Studded Belt Black.
Sunnies and Hats
Standing around all day long in the beaming sun in between spurts of dancing seems good in theory, but in reality, can be a nightmare. If you’re anything like me and your skin turns into a lobster after about three seconds under the sun, you better take into consideration the weather when planning your outfit. What better way to protect yourself from the weather than by finding yourself a pair of vintage sunnies and a hat to match. Not only will you be sun-safe, you’ll be channeling major festival vibes. Nothing better than being cute and practical, AMIRITE? We suggest the Lack of Colour Lola Cap Taupe and the Hadid Sunglasses White Black.
Is anyone as excited as me about layered necklaces? Not only do they give any outfit that extra edge, but again, they are totally re-wearable post festival. Take any basic strapless or plunging neckline top and pair it with a layered necklace and just wait for the compliments to roll in. Let’s be real ladies, it gives us an excuse to wear as much jewellery as we can at any one time, which sounds amazing to me. Where do I sign up? We think the Faithful Layered Necklace Gold is HOT HOT HOT!
If you’re anything like me and you have a draw full of pretty bralettes and you have absolutely NO idea where to wear them, festivals are the place for you. Layering an open chested top with a bralette underneath (in the same colour of course) is a super cute way to include this staple into your festival look. For a simple, lacy and pretty bralette, we suggest the Betty Lace Bralette Black.
In terms of the outfit itself, I really do think that playsuits are the way to go for a festival look. First, let’s look at playsuits from a practical perspective, put simply, playsuits give you that freedom to move freely (with Yonce in the line-up, you’re gonna want that freedom). And now aesthetically, is there anything more perfect looking than a playsuit? Whether its synched at the waste, flowy, floral etc, they are perfect for any occasion and can be dressed up or down (see above for accessory inspo) PERFECTLY for any festival. We think the Shine For You Playsuit Mustard is the perfect festival playsuit, especially with a plain white tee under!
Can you really go wrong with denim? Denim is the answer to all festival outfit prayers. Throw on your fave pair of mom jeans, high-waisted shorts, skirt or boyfriend jeans (the more distressed, the better) paired with any basic bodysuit and you’ll have yourself a KILLER festival outfit with minimal effort. Thank me later. We think the Naomi Boyfriend Jeans, The Vintage Blue Wash Denim Skirt and the Abrand Venice Shorts Miami would look ace as part of your next festival outfit!
