#trending: clear heels

Does anybody remember those see-through, plastic dress up heels you used to wear as toddlers? The ones that made satisfyingly loud clicking noises when you walked?

Well, imagine they got seduced by a pair of stripper heels and had a love child. Enter: “The Nothing Shoe,” one of the biggest accessory trends this Summer we’re totally dying over!

Still not convinced? These transparent heels have gone crazy on the Internet and in the fashion world, with designers like Yeezy, Dior, Diane Von Furstenburg and Victoria Beckham showcasing them on the runway. These heels have a strong spot as contenders for this Summer’s biggest trends, alongside velvet chokers and silk dresses.

Since last September we’ve seen them worn by a handful of major celebs like Selena Gomez, Chrissy Teigen, Gigi Hadid and of course almost all the Kardashians.

If you don’t have $800AUD to dish out on a pair of Yeezy Lucite heels, how about the next best thing? Still deciding whether or not to invest in a pair? We’ve devised a small pros and cons list to help you see clearer

The Pros

No matchy, no worries – clear accessories give you the freedom to wear whatever you want without having to pause to check that it all matches. Caught in a random rainy downpour? You’re all set in these glorified gumboots. Plastic and PVS make for perfect wet weather options. Want your legs to look 40cm longer than they actually are? Solved.

The Cons

Just make sure that pedicure it up to scratch girl! Your tootsies are on display for the whole world to see. Other than that, we figure these clear heels are a no brainer and are a total must have this summer.

Don’t leave it too late, get your pair now!
