Homemade nut butter is a staple in my kitchen. I love blending it in smoothies, using it in baking, topping it on oats and eating it by the spoon! Making it is super easy- I personally use dry roasted nuts to give it a richer flavour. I use a Vitamix to make my nut butters- it helps achieve a super smooth consistency but any high power blender will work just fine! Bare in mind, this recipe does require some patience. It will take a while for the natural oils to release and for a smooth consistency to form. Feel free to substitute any nuts of your choice. Macadamia and cashew is another favourite combo of mine! Super creamy and delicious!
Ingredients:
1.5 cups dry roasted cashews
1.5 cups dry roasted almonds
1 tsp sea salt
Method
1. Pour nuts into a high speed blender.
2.Blend, occasionally stopping and scraping down the sides. After approximately 10 minutes, a smooth, almost runny consistency will form.
