Trend To Try: Midi Skirts

Ladies it’s time to mix up your wardrobe with this season’s latest trend; the Midi Skirt!
While we all know the midi skirt has been around for quite some time,  this year’s come-back trend is bolder and braver than ever before!

If you are thinking that a midi skirt is a little bit too plain or possibly something that only Librarians would wear; then think again! You only need to flick open your favourite glossy mag or tap your instagram feed to see all the cool kids of the world already rocking this trend! But before you raid through your closet and rummage for your credit card, there are two main styles of midi skirt to take note of; the fitted pencil skirt and the full A-line.

Fitted
A fitted midi skirt oozes in style and sophistication; the figure hugging shape creates a classic womanly hourglass silhouette and looks great worn with a button up blouse and brogues for an effortless office-ready look. And because a fitted midi covers a little more leg, we see it as the perfect excuse to show of your waist in an itty bitty crop with a pair of strappy heels for the ultimate Friday night look! Not headed to work or the clubs? A fitted midi also looks great worn with a simple sweater or statement print tee!

A-Line
The A-line midi is a great piece, all about playing with volume and having fun!  Avoid looking like your great Aunt Norma by choosing bold colours or prints and adding quirky modern shoes and accessories. Look for a skirt with a fitted waistband and gathers or pleats for a more flattering look.

So what is the trick to a fresh and up to date style? A+A (Accessories and Attitude)! This trend is all about making the look your own and taking risks by mixing and matching different textures, colours and prints ! You can wear a midi skirt with a cardi, chunky necklace and sneakers for killer street style! It doesn’t matter if you are a tomboy, teenager or fashion trend blogger, the midi skirt is a look that you have to try! (trust me you will thank us for it)!
